Christa's Celebration de la Chic

Fashion is the unbarring of your soul to complete strangers. A mere flip flop can reveal an obsession with youth as a belt can reveal a subconscious need to reign in your inner fire. Clothes are a language and we define ourselves by what we own (or by what we don't own). How many times have you purchased something you won't really read/use/wear because you thought it would make you look/feel/be cooler? Case in point. Even a rebellion against fashion is still spoken by what you wear. You will never escape.

This season, style is all about layers. Today I dressed in 7 layers of awkward.

Layer 1: Foundation Garments, made by Underlying Insecurities
Layer 2: Camisole in Light Pink with Antique Lace Trim, made by Hide Yourself
Layer 3: Grey Blouse with Wooden Buttons, made by In My Head So I Can't Hear You
Layer 4: Jeans, made by Who Do You Think I Am
Layer 5: Extra Soft Socks of Angora Wool, made by Trying Too Hard
Layer 6: Brown Riding Boots, made by Pretending Not To Care
Layer 7: Earrings, made by Don't Look At Me

But more importantly, what are you listening to? Check out this shout-out to my brother's band. You should listen to them. It will make you cool.

Thanks! I didn't mean this post to sound like such a downer, more sarcastic and sassy...I will don the I am Fabulous headband for sure!
